J.A. Seymour 5 Star Amazon Review; Will be a good guide to collectors.
This wonderful book covers in detail the often neglected subject of early American fowlers and their roles as both hunting and fighting weapons. This should stand as the ‘go to’ source on this topic for years to come. Well written and illustrated.
N. Chandler 5 Star Amazon Review; Authoritave Guide on the topic or Flintlock Fowlers.
Flintlock Fowlers is an excellent resource for those interested in the common firearms of the pre revolutionary period, whether a gun builder or just interested in the working guns of the period. Pictures are clear and many different smoothbores are given as examples along with descriptions and dimensions. The color section is very helpful to those who build as it gives an accurate representation of what color stains were used in finishing. I got this book mainly to learn a little more about smoothbores before I dropped some big money on having one built and it was a tremendous help.
