The Anishinabek News is published by the Communications Department of the Union of Ontario Indians. The Anishinaabe are a group of culturally related Indigenous peoples present in the Great Lakes region of Canada and the United States. They include the Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi, Mississaugas, Nipissing and Algonquin peoples. The Anishinaabe speak Anishinaabemowin, or Anishinaabe languages that belong to the Algonquian language family.
The Charkoosta News is the official publication of the Flathead Indian Reservation. The name “Char-Koosta” is a combination of the names of the last two traditional leaders of the Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Charlo was the last traditional chief of the Bitteroot Salish and among the last of his people to move to the Jocko. Chief Koostahtah was the last of the Kootenai traditional leaders. His office was eliminated by the Constitution of 1935.
The Chickasaw Times is mailed free to Chickasaw registered voters, government and educational offices, and upon request to other Indian citizens. Reprint permission is granted with credit to The Chickasaw Times unless other copyrights are shown. The Chickasaw Times is published monthly with two special issues each year- June and September. KLND Community Radio – Little Eagle, SD
KLND is a community, non commercial Native American radio station that primarily serves the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Nations in south central North Dakota and north central South Dakota. It operates on the FM band at 89.5 with 100,000 watts effective radiated power. Besides their programming content, their web site has some great content: powwow schedules, powwow pictures (and narratives), Indian humor, powwow calendar (including those they will broadcast), and things of interest.
