2020 Paul Revere Capture Ceremony
Witness the annual Paul Revere Capture Ceremony on April 11, 2020 at the Paul Revere Capture Site in the Minute Man National Historical Park in Lincoln, Massachusetts. The Lincoln Minute Men and the Town of Lincoln, joined by other reenactment units, observe the historic capture of Paul Revere with a dramatic re-telling of Longfellow’s famous poem, fife and drum music and a musket fire salute.
Paul Revere Capture Ceremony
At 2:45 PM, the company of Lincoln Minute Men will assemble at the Battle Road Visitors Center of the Minute Man National Historical Park. From there, with flags flying and to the music of colonial fifes and drums, the Lincoln Minute Men and all who wish to join them will march down Nelson Road, a section of the original Battle Road, to the Paul Revere Capture Site on Route 2A.
In a lively ceremony beginning at 3 PM, the Minute Men will commemorate the capture of Paul Revere, the escape of William Dawes, and the success of Samuel Prescott in carrying the alarm. The Paul Revere Capture Ceremony will include a lively historical narrative of the events and the heroism of Lincoln residents. All this will be accompanied a musket salute and by colonial music performed by the Fifes and Drums of the Lincoln Minute Men and other invited musical groups.
